WINS EMBROIDERY CONTEST Thomas Moore, co-owner of Strawberry Stitch Co. received the award for the Best Original Design of the Show, at the Midwest Embroidery Technology Seminar, January 26-28, 1996 in St. Charles, Illinois. This three day seminar is hosted by Sewing Machine Exchange, Inc., Chicago, Illinois. METS features classes taught by industry professionals, technical workshops, a trade fair as well as the embroidery contest. Thomas Moore has a computer graphics background and uses this experience to digitize their own artwork and designs. Winning the embroidery contest was a great surprise to Tom since it was the first time Strawberry Stitch Co. had participated in this large national seminar. "We had only hoped for exposure" said Tom, but they walked away with the prize. This particular METS was extra special as it was Sewing Machine Exchange's 50th anniversary and the largest attendance in METS history.
