Wedesday, March 26, 2008 Travel pleasure

It was a great day on the road. I worked the first portion of the day, loaded my vehicle and hit the road heading north to Minneapolis for the Decorated Apparel Expo.

Completely unlike myself, I did not have a reservation for the night. OMG!, some might say. "Thomas didn't have every minute planned?" I drove for about 4 hours and then asked the GPS for a place to stay. I found a Fairfield Inn in Waterloo Iowa.

After check in, I drove down the street and located a restaurant called Carlos O'Kelly's which seemed like a place with an identity crisis on its hands. I was expecting corn beefed tacos. It turned out to be a pretty good place with decent margaritas. Not as good as mine, but who’s are?

I settled in with my current read, "Born Standing Up - a comic's life" by Steve Martin. It's good fun and light hearted, which is good for a person miles away from home.
