Work was wonderful today. We are making great progress.

My friend Sue sent me an email with the five lessons of life. I thought it was very interesting reading and will share with you the lessons over the next few days. The first lesson is one I learned some time ago. It’s respectful to learn the name of everyone in a company who you come in contact without regard for their position. I enjoy being respectful of everyone I meet and work with. It makes me feel better about myself and I hope it makes them feel better about themselves in the process.

First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady
During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions until I read the last one:
'What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?' Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50's, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade. 'Absolutely,' said the professor. 'In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say 'hello.'
I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy.

How I Feel

Confetti fallin' from the sky
My hometown on the 4th of July
A midnight snow on Christmas Eve
Like standin' up for what you believe

[Chorus]
That's how I feel when I'm with you
That's how I feel when I'm with you
That's how I feel
That's how I feel when I'm with you

Your lucky coat, the first day of fall
When you wake up laughin' just because
An old church door that stays wide open
A perfect heart that's never been broken

[Repeat Chorus]

That's how I feel when I'm with you
Every day there's something new
To cry about, to laugh about
Those moments I can't live without
That's how I feel
That's how I feel
When I'm with you
