Late for Class

Registering

I'm interested in your classes. How do I register for a class?

Registering for a class is very simple.

  1. Complete the on-line class registration form and specify each class you wish to attend.
  2. If paying by credit card call our Toll Free number 888-991-0707 and provide your credit card information.

I have registered for a class. What happens next?

  • The first thing that will happen is you will recieve an auto-response informing you that we received your registration form. If you do not receive this auto-response within ONE HOUR of the form submission, please call our Toll Free number 888-991-0707 and speak to a representative.
  • After we have received your registration form and payment information you will be confirmed for a class.
  • On the night prior to your class time you will receive an email confirmation letter with your
    1. Class participation link and password
    2. Class voice conference number and password
    3. Class handout link

Is it too late to register for a class?

We accept class registrations until there are 20 students or two hours prior to the start of class which ever comes first. After either of these circustances a class is considered closed.

What if a class has more than 20 students?

We intend to provide a class time for eveyone who is interested. If registration levels exceed 20 students a later class will normally be added. This Late-Nite class will be offered at 9:00 CT.

I purchased future class credit. How do redeem the future class credit and register for a class?

If you are holding a future class credit you should complete the on-line class registration form. On the form specify

  • Apply Future Class Credit in the Payment field
  • In the WebClass field specify the classes you would like to register for.

Class Confirmations

When will I receive my class confirmation?

Class confirmations are emailed the night before the scheduled class date. Most of the time the confirmations letters will be emailed late at night and be available to you in the morning.

I thought the class confirmations should have gone out by now. Is there a reason why I didn't get mine??

A couple reasons why the email confirmations may have gone out but you didn't get yours are:

  1. Be sure to check the email account provided when you registered for the class. You may do this by referring to the auto-response provided at the time of registration.
  2. You may be using an email account that blocks emails sent to bulk lists. Instruct your ISP to allow emails from our domain StrawberryStitch.com
  3. Your email program may have filtered the confirmation letter to the junk folder. If this is the case you should be able to retrieve it easy enough.

Login Problems

I was trying to login to class and by the time I was able to get in, the class was already in progress. What can I do to prevent that from happening again?

Out of respect for busy schedules and the cost of long distance phone charges, our classes will begin promptly at their scheduled time. Steps you can take to ensure proper class preparation are:

  1. Test out your class link soon after you receive your confirmation letter. If the link works correctly you will see a screen confirming the class Subject, the class Time, the class Date and the class Conference number. There will be a message saying you are waiting for the class instructor.
  2. Login to the classroom 30 minute prior to the class time to ensure you're system is working corretly, you are settled into your seat and any questions are asked prior to class time.
  3. Call into the voice conference call five (5) minutes prior to class time to ensure you are on the right confernce call.

I'm trying to login to the class but it doesn't appear to connect. What could be the problem?

If your system is not connecting to the class room you could check a few things we have found to be a problem, but there is very little we can do if you are having connection problems.

  • Ensure you're using a High Speed Connections such as DSL, ISDN, or Cable. We have found that Dial-up connections do not work very well.
  • We have found that users of services such AOL have had some problems connecting. This does not preclude AOL users from participating in the classes, as most users of AOL have not had a problem.
  • Connections seem to work best with Internet Explorer. Several users of the web browser Mozilla have had problems connecting.

I'm trying to login but it says I have the wrong password. What could be the problem?

The first thing you should attempt is re-typing the password to ensure you are using the correct password. We suggest you copy and paste the passwrod from the confirmation letter to the sign in screen.

If that does not work, then possibly you are attempting to enter the wrong classroom. Make sure you are attempting to enter the classroom associated with your confirmation letter. It is possible you registered for the incorrect class or we sent you the wrong confirmation letter for the class you're registered for.

Requirements

What is required of my hardware to participate in a WebClass?

Very little is required of your computer system to participate in the WebClasses. You must have:

  1. A well operating computer with the MS Windows operating system.
  2. A high speed internet connection such as T1, DSL, Cable or ISDN.

What is required of my software to participate in a WebClass?

Very little is required of your computer system's software to participate in the WebClasses. The program begin taught (i.e. CorelDraw or Wilcom) does not have to be installed on the computer used during class.

Can I participate if I have a internet dial-up connection?

The WebClass service we use does not recommend the use of dialup connections. If you wish to try a class with a dialup connection you are free to do so, but that test is not refundable if you determine the speeds were not acceptable for your participation.

Late for Class

I'm late for class. Can I arrive late or should I skip the class?

Just like a physical classroom, it is not recommended to be late for class, however situations do arise. Quietly slip into the classroom and attempt to determine on your own where in the presentation the class is. Do not ask questions until you feel comfortable you are not asking an inappropriate question. Do not announce yourself as the conference call prompt may suggest.

I'm late for class and need assistance getting in the WebClass. Who can assist me?

If you're having trouble getting into the WebClass, please call (888)991-0707 for assitance during regular office hours (9am - 5pm Central time). If your class is scheduled for after hours there is a good chance you will not be able to obtain assistance. In this situation you can attempt to call, however there is a good chance your call will not be answered if it is too close to class time.
